CLUB OBSERVATORY SITE SEARCH
During the [1976] summer, several suggested [club observatory] sites were visited and preliminary evaluations made by the Site Selection Committee. The site locations are being reviewed in accordance with the results of the questionnaire mailed last spring.
There are three classes of restrictions to be considered in selecting a site for the observatory: the Astronomical considerations (seeing quality, horizon, light interference) have often been discussed; of more difficulty are Civil (road access, land ownership, security protection) and Social (overnight--camping and sanitary facilities) aspects.
